Viking Line

Mogul has developed web solutions for Viking Line since 1997. Most recently, we created an entirely new web service, where emphasis was put on improved presentation of offers and shorter completion time, that is, increased sales. The solution was developed on a mutual system for the Swedish and the Finnish web sites.

Moreover, the solution includes two additional extranet solutions for travelling agencies and contractual companies respectively. Vikingline.se is the company’s most important sales channel, with its 400,000 visits monthly and regular newsletter sendouts to VIP customers. In recent years, ticket sales on the web site have seen a rapid increase. Today almost half of the tickets are sold there.

Mogul’s assignment: design, usability and development of technology on EPiServer. Installation and configuration of the search engine Opto.

By means of public procurement Mogul was entrusted with the task of designing and developing Finansinspektionen’s external web site. In addition to mere design-oriented changes, the project focused on improved usability. The solution was created according to “The 24 hour web” (Verva’s guidelines for public sector web services) along with the W3C call for adjustment of web solutions to the needs of people with disabilities. The web site was implemented on EPiServer and integrated in Mogul’s search engine OptoSearch.

Holmen

Mogul has assisted the Holmen group in implementing a web publication system for both external webs and intranets. The implementation has resulted in considerable savings, as well as efficient, decentralized information management.

At an early stage, Mogul was involved in the project to come up with a detailed specification of requirements suited for the company. The specification led to the introduction of the publication system Spirello, along with adjustments of the latter to meet the demands of the stated requirements.

The implementation was carried out in co-operation with Holmen’s IT department, and the result was very satisfying. Today, some twenty internal and external web sites are running, and the staffs at both Holmen and Mogul continuously attain further development.

Mogul’s development department in Belgrad has delivered the project in accordance with our Offshore model, which has resulted in significant cost cuts.

Medborgarskolan

Medborgarskolan started early on with course prospects online, thanks to a solution provided by Mogul back in 1999. Five years later it was time to replace the old platform with a modern publication platform. Mogul was entrusted with this task as well – from design to technical implementation.

The new web site is based on EPiServer, which, along with WebServices, is integrated in Medborgarskolan’s course administration system. Since the search function is crucial for users of the web site, we have implemented our in-house developed system OptoSearch, to facilitate flexible and quick search with a highly accurate result.

Medborgarskolan is constituted by several schools and educational organizations, all of which have their own brands. In 2006 Medborgarskolan arrived at the strategic decision to base each separate web site on EPiServer Enterprise. All of these sites were also fitted into the same framework, with the same functions and templates.

On the basis of this strategy, Mogul has delivered new web sites to Kulturama, Spanska Skolan, Kompetenstorget, Stockholms Fria Gymnasium and Medborgarskolan Stockholm.

The solution is based on “The 24 hour web” guidelines and the W3C requirements. Mogul has also developed design and usability for Riksbanken’s intranet.
